2742 – Muhammad ibn ʿUthmān al-Baṣrī narrated to us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Jarrāḥ narrated to us; he said: Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad ibn Aʿyan al-Marwazī narrated to us; he said: al-Naḍr ibn Shumayl narrated to us; he said: Hishām ibn ʿUrwah narrated to us; he said: my father related to me; he said: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar say: I heard ʿAlī say: I heard the Messenger of Allah — peace and blessings be upon him — say, “The best of her women is Mary, daughter of ʿImrān, and the best of her women is Khadijah.”
