2697 – Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Yaʿqūb narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn al-Ruwayānī narrated to us; he said: ʿAmr ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us; he said: Shuʿbah, from Ḥ— .

2698 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn al-Ḥaḍramī narrated to us; he said: Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; he said: Ghundar narrated to us; he said: Shuʿbah, from Saʿd ibn Ibrāhīm, who said: I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn Shaddād say: ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with him—said, “I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ invoke both of his parents for anyone except Saʿd. On the Day of Uḥud he kept saying, ‘Shoot! May my father and mother be ransomed for you.’” It was recorded by al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
