2691 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Aḥmad narrated to us; al-Ḥusayn ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Qurād narrated to us; he said: Sharīk narrated to us, from Jābir, from Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī, from his father ʿAlī ibn Ḥusayn, who said: “Whoever—whether from among us, the Prophet’s Household, or anyone else—claims that obedience to him is obligatory upon the servants of Allah has lied about us, and we disown him. Such obedience is due only to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and, after him, to those in authority.”
