2647 – Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn Muḥammad al-Iṣbahānī informed us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Ziyād informed us; Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Wahb narrated to us; my uncle narrated to me; he said: Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ related to me—
2648 – And ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn Yaʿqūb said: Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Saʿdān al-Fazārī, resident of Rayy, informed us; al-Ḥusayn ibn al-Haytham narrated to us; Harmalah narrated to us; Ibn Wahb narrated to us; he said: Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ related to me, from Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, who said:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once climbed a mountain called Ḥirāʾ together with Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, ʿUthmān, ʿAlī, Ṭalḥah, al-Zubayr and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. The mountain began to quake beneath them, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘Be still, Ḥirāʾ! Upon you are none but a prophet, a man of absolute truth, or a martyr.’ Thereupon the mountain became calm.”
Muslim included this report through the chain of Ibn Wahb.
