2641 – Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Yaʿqūb related to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn al-Ruwayyānī related to us; he said: ʿAmr ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; he said: Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us; he said: al-Aʿmash—ḥ.

2642 – Jaʿfar (again) said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn related to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq narrated to us; he said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn Mūsā, from al-Aʿmash, from ʿAdī ibn Thābit, from Zirr, from ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with him—said: “By Him Who splits the grain and brings forth every soul, the Prophet ﷺ made a covenant with me: ‘No one will love you except a believer, and no one will hate you except a hypocrite.’” The exact wording is that of ʿAmr ibn ʿAlī. Muslim recorded it in his Ṣaḥīḥ.
