2639 – Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Yaʿqūb related to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn al-Ruyānī related to us; he said: Abū Saʿīd al-Ashajj narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Ajlaḥ, from his father, from Ṭalḥah ibn Muṣarrif, from ʿUmayr ibn Saʿd, reported: I heard ʿAlī call out to the people, “Whoever heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘Whoever has me as his mawla (guardian and ally), ʿAlī is his mawla,’ let him stand.” Eighteen men rose and bore witness.
