254—Isa ibn Ali informed us. Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us. He said: Muhammad ibn Ali al-Juzajani narrated to us. He said: Ahmad ibn Yunus informed us. He said: A man said to Sufyan, while I was listening: “O Abu Abd Allah, give me counsel.” He replied: “Beware of misguided desires and disputation, and beware of the ruler.”
٢٥٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُوزَجَانِيُّ , قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ , قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِسُفْيَانَ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ: «يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَوْصِنِي» . قَالَ: «إِيَّاكَ وَالْأَهْوَاءَ وَالْخُصُومَةَ , وَإِيَّاكَ وَالسُّلْطَانَ»
