2621 – I, Ahmad, report: Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Nusayr and ʿAbd al-Samad ibn Ali ibn Mukram both narrated to us; they said: al-Harith ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-ʿAbdi narrated to us; he said: Abu ʿAbd Allah al-Tawil, the associate of Bishr ibn al-Harith, told me: I heard Bishr ibn al-Harith say, “I asked Abu Bakr ibn ʿAyyash, ‘What is your opinion of someone who ranks ʿAli above ʿUthman?’ He replied, ‘Whoever says that is under the curse of Allah.’”
