2606 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman related to us; he said: Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Ṣāʿid narrated to us; he said: Abu Bishr Isḥaq ibn Shahin narrated to us; he said: Khalid ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated, from Bayan, from ʿAmir, from Abu Juḥayfa, who said:

ʿAli ibn Abi Talib said, “Shall I not tell you who are the finest of this ummah after its Prophet? They are Abu Bakr and ʿUmar—and yet another man.”
