2602 – Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisi narrated to us; he said: Abū Saʿīd Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Ziyād narrated to us; he said: al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ al-Zaʿfarānī narrated to us; he said: Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated from Suhayl ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ, from his father, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said:

“We used to say during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: ‘When Abū Bakr, ʿUmar ⦗1447⦘, and ʿUthmān are gone, the people will all be on the same level.’ This report would reach the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he never objected.”
