2596 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Baghawī narrated to us; Dāwūd ibn Rushayd narrated to us; and more than one transmitter reported that they heard Hārūn, the Commander of the Believers, say: “Had I been present with ʿUthmān—may Allah be pleased with him—I would have fought with the sword in front of him.”
