2593 – ʿAli ibn ʿUmar reported to us; he said: Ismaʿil ibn Muhammad narrated to us; al-Hasan ibn Sallam narrated to us; ʿUthman ibn Talut al-Sayrafi narrated to us; Ashʿath ibn Salim narrated to us; my father related to me, from ʿAmrah bint Qays, who said: “I looked at the codex (mushaf) of ʿUthman ibn ʿAffan, and on the verse, ‘So Allah will suffice you against them’ (2:137), there was a drop of blood.”
