2590 – ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAttāb narrated to us; Yaḥyā narrated to us; ʿUthmān ibn Ghiyāth narrated to us, from Khālid al-Rabʿī, who said ⦗1442⦘:

“It is recorded in the earlier writings that on the Day of Resurrection ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān—may Allah be pleased with him—will be standing along the path, declaring: ‘My Lord, it was Your righteous, believing servants who killed me.’”
