2589 – Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us; ʿUthmān ibn Aḥmad narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān—meaning ibn Manṣūr—narrated to us; he said: Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥakam narrated to us; he said: Rūḥ ibn Musāfir, from al-Aʿmash, who said: I think it is from Abū Wāʾil, from Ḥudhayfah, who said:

“When ʿUthmān was killed, he declared, ‘By Allah, by Allah, he is most certainly in Paradise; by Allah, by Allah, his killers are in the Fire.’”
