2580 – Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿUthmān informed us; he said: Ismāʿīl ibn Muḥammad informed us; he said: ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Yūnus narrated to us; he said: Ḥammād ibn Zayd—from Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd, from Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from his father—who said:

“You have faulted ʿUthmān for matters which, had ʿUmar done them, you would never have faulted him.”
