2573 – ʿUbayd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿUmar reported: Ismāʿīl ibn Muḥammad told us; Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd-Allāh ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us; Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us; Shuʿbah, from Ḥabīb ibn al-Zubayr, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Sharīd, from ʿAlī, who said:
“I pray that I and ʿUthmān will be counted among those of whom Allah has said: ‘We will remove whatever rancor may be in their hearts; they shall be brothers, seated on couches facing one another.’” (Qur’an 15:47)
٢٥٧٣ - أنا عُبَيْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: نا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: نا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا وَعُثْمَانُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷿: ﴿وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ﴾ [الحجر: ٤٧] "
