2571 – Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd reported: ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mubashshir told us; Aḥmad ibn Sinān narrated to us; Yaʿqūb ibn Muḥammad al-Zuhrī narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā narrated from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said:

ʿUthmān declared, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left me behind from (the expedition of) Badr so that I could stay with his daughter, yet he allotted me my share of the spoils and my full reward. The Pledge of Riḍwān was taken on my behalf: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his right hand upon his left for me—and the left hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is better than my right.”
