2569 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān reports: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Baghawī told us; he said: Ibn Zanjawayh narrated to us; he said: al-Minhāl ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us; he said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah, related that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to ʿUthmān and she heard him say, “Allah will clothe you in a garment; if they try to make you remove it, do not take it off.”

She was later asked, “Where were you, that you never mentioned this before?” She answered, “I had forgotten it.”
