2554 – ʿAlī ibn ʿUmar reported: Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Muqrī related to us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Saʿīd related to us; he said: Abū Nuʿaym related to us; he said: Abū Isḥāq, on the authority of Ḥāritha ibn Muḍarrib, said: I performed the pilgrimage with ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb. I heard the camel-driver chanting:

“Indeed, the commander after him is Ibn ʿAffān.”
