2519 – ʿĪsā ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Baghawī narrated to us; he said: Khalaf ibn Hishām narrated to us; he said: Abū Shihāb narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal, from Abū ʿUthmān, from Abū Mūsā, who said:

“I was with the Prophet ﷺ in a garden when Abu Bakr and ʿUmar came and knocked at the gate. He said, ‘Rise, open the gate for them, and give them the glad tidings of Paradise.’

Yet he later singled ʿUthmān out with something that he did not grant to the other two. Al-Bukhārī and Muslim also recorded this ḥadīth.”
