2509 – And I (Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd) [also] received it, he said: ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Mubashshir told us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Sinān told us; he said: Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī told us; he said: Misʿar, from Abū ʿAwn, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from ʿAlī, reported: The Prophet ﷺ said to me and to Abū Bakr on the Day of Badr, “With one of you is Jibrīl (Gabriel) and with the other is Mīkāʾīl (Michael)—a mighty angel who witnesses the fighting or stands in the ranks.”

2510 – Aḥmad and ʿAlī related to us; Aḥmad said: Abū Nuʿaym related to us; he said: Misʿar, from Abū ʿAwn, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from ʿAlī, narrated: “It was said to Abū Bakr …”—he then mentioned something to the same effect, but he did not attribute it to the Prophet.
