2435 – Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Yaʿqūb reported to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn al-Ruwayyānī reported to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn al-Zibrqān narrated to us; he said: Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah, from Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar, from Ibn ʿUmar, said:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever lets his garment drag on the ground out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.”

Abu Bakr said, “O Messenger of Allah, one side of my lower garment slips unless I keep adjusting it.” He replied, “O Abu Bakr, you are not among those who do it out of arrogance.”
