2419 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-ʿAbbās told us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz told us; he said: Wahb ibn Baqiyyah al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us; he said: Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ, from Abū ʿUthmān, who said: ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ related to me that he came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, “Messenger of Allah, who is the most beloved of all people to you?” He answered, “ʿĀʾishah.” I said, “Among the men?” He replied, “Her father.” I said, “And who after that?” He said, “Then ʿUmar.” Recorded by al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
