2418 – And Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisī also said: Muḥammad ibn ⦗1352⦘ Jaʿfar ibn Hishām ibn Milās in Damascus narrated to us; he said: Mūsā ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us; he said: al-Walīd narrated to us; he said: Mālik and ʿUrwa, on the authority of al-Zuhrī, from Ḥumayd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Abū Hurayrah, who reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Paradise has eight gates. Whoever was devoted to prayer will be called from the Gate of Prayer; whoever was devoted to jihad will be called from the Gate of Jihad; whoever was devoted to fasting will be called from the Gate of al-Rayyān; and whoever was devoted to charity will be called from the Gate of Charity.”
Abū Bakr said, “Someone who is called from any single one of those gates is in no danger—but will anyone be invited from all of them?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, “Yes, and I hope you will be among them.”
