229—Al-Hasan informed us. He said: Ahmad informed us. Bishr narrated to us. He said: Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us. He said: Sufyan narrated to us from Ibn Shubrumah, from al-Sha'bi, who said:
“Vain desires are so named because they cast their adherent down into the Fire.”
٢٢٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ , أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ , حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنِ ابْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ , عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ , قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَتِ الْأَهْوَاءُ لِأَنَّهَا تَهْوِي بِصَاحِبِهَا فِي النَّارِ»
