2391 – Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ya‘qub related to us; Bakr ibn Musa al-Darimi informed us; he said: Ibrahim ibn Ishaq narrated to us; he said: Mus‘ab ibn al-Miqdam narrated to us, from Za’ida, who said:

“I asked Mansur ibn al-Muʿtamir, ‘On a day when I am fasting, may I criticize the rulers?’ He replied, ‘No.’ I then asked, ‘May I criticize those who criticize Abu Bakr and ʿUmar?’ He said, ‘Yes indeed.’”
