2384 – ʿAli ibn Muhammad narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Ahmad narrated to us; he said: my father narrated to me; he said: Abu Muʿawiyah al-Darir narrated to us; he said: ʿAsim—meaning al-Ahwal—said ⦗1341⦘: “A man who had reviled ʿUthman was brought before me, so I gave him ten lashes. When he returned to his abusive speech, I gave him another ten. He continued to curse him until the total reached seventy lashes.”}
