Ismāʿīl ibn Isḥāq was asked about a man who reviled ʿĀʾisha and he ruled that the offender should be put to death. Al-Ḥasan and Muḥammad, the two sons of Zayd al-Dāʿī of Ṭabaristān—who once governed the region—likewise executed two men for having slandered ʿĀʾisha.
