2369 – ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿUmar reported to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad told us; he said: Yaʿqūb narrated to us; he said: al-Waḍḍāḥ ibn Ḥassān narrated to us, saying:

“A certain man used to revile Abū Bakr and ʿUmar. He had accompanied us on a journey, and we forbade him, but he would not desist. So we said to him, ‘Keep away from us,’ and he did so. When we were about to return, we felt obliged and said, ‘If only he would travel back with us until ⦗1332⦘ we reach home.’

We then met his servant and said, ‘Tell your master to rejoin us.’ The servant replied, ‘Something tremendous has happened to me!’ He exposed his forearms, and behold, they were the forearms of a pig.

He turned toward us and remained with us until we came to a village where pigs were plentiful. The moment he saw them, he squealed like a pig, leapt from his mount—and there he was, a pig himself! He mingled with the other pigs and we could no longer recognize him. So we took his belongings and his servant back with us to Kūfa.”
