2362 – ʿAli ibn Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub related to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Jaʿfar related to us; he said: Idris ibn ʿAbd al-Karim narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn ʿIsa al-Misri narrated to us; he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us; he said: ʿUmar ibn Muhammad informed me that his father told him, from Saʿid ibn Zayd ibn ʿAmr ibn Nufayl, that Arwa brought a claim against him over a piece of land. He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘Whoever seizes even a handspan of land without right will have it placed as a yoke around his neck, sinking him down through the seven earths on the Day of Resurrection.’ He then prayed, ‘O Allah, if she is lying, blind her and make her grave within her own house.’ I later saw her blind, groping along the walls and saying, ‘The supplication of Saʿid ibn Zayd has struck me.’ While she was walking through the courtyard she fell headlong into the well there; she landed inside it, and that became her grave.” Muslim recorded it. }
