2345 – Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yaʿqūb related to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn al-Ruwayānī narrated to us; he said: Abū Kurayb narrated to us; he said: al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī—through Zāʾidah, from ʿĀṣim, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah—reported: A disagreement arose between Khālid ibn al-Walīd and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf, the sort of thing that happens among people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, “Leave my Companions for me. If one of you were to spend in charity gold the size of Mount Uhud, it would not equal a mudd of what any one of them gave, nor even half of it.”
