2335. Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisī informed us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Bakkār al-Saksakī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn al-Walīd ibn Abān narrated to us; he said: Dāwūd ibn Sulaymān al-Shaybānī narrated to us; he said: Khāzim ibn Jabalah, from Ibn Abī Naḍrah, from his father, from his grandfather, from Abū Saʿīd, reported:

Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said to Abū Bakr and ʿUmar, “By Allah, I do love you both—by Allah, I love you both for Allah’s sake and because of His love for you. By Allah, the angels likewise love you because Allah loves you. May Allah love whoever loves you, maintain ties with whoever maintains ties with you, cut off whoever cuts you off, and detest whoever detests you—in this world and in the Hereafter.”
