2317 – Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Zakariyya al-Muttaʿi al-Naysaburi (may Allah have mercy on him), speaking in Rayy, reported to us; he said: I heard Abu al-ʿAbbas Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub ibn al-Aṣam say:

Two Kharijites were circumambulating the Sacred House. One of them said to his companion, “No one from all this creation will enter Paradise except you and I.” The other replied, “Was a Paradise whose breadth is like that of the heavens and the earth built for just you and me?” He answered, “Yes.” So the companion said, “Then it is all yours,” and he abandoned that notion.
