2307 – Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Hashimi reported to us: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Ahmad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman related to us; Hafs ibn ʿAmr narrated to us; Yahya ibn Saʿid narrated to us, from ʿUthman ibn al-Aswad, who said: I heard ʿAtaʾ say, “Offer the funeral prayer for everyone who is brought to this gate, so long as he faces your qiblah.” I then mentioned certain people to him, and he made some remark about them. He concluded, “Pray over everyone among them who turns toward the qiblah.”
