2286 – ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad, Ismāʿīl ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿUbayd Allāh, ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Aḥmad, and ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mahdī informed us; they said: al-Ḥusayn ibn Ismāʿīl reported to us; he said: Yūsuf ibn Mūsā narrated to us; he said: Jarīr, from Ismāʿīl, from Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah, who said:
I asked, “Messenger of Allah, it has reached me that the Antichrist will be accompanied by rivers and water and mountains of bread.” He replied, “In Allah’s sight he is far too insignificant for that.” al-Mughīrah continued, “I was among the people who asked about him the most,” whereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “He is not someone who can harm you.”
This wording is that of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz. Muslim recorded it through Isḥāq, from Jarīr; and al-Bukhārī through the narration of Ismāʿīl.
