2274 – Ahmad ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us; ʿAli ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Mubashshir narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; he said: ʿUmar ibn ʿAli narrated to us; he said: Abu Qudamah al-Harith ibn ⦗1287⦘ ʿUbayd narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allah ibn al-Akhnas, from al-Walid ibn ʿAbd Allah, from Yusuf ibn Mahak, from Ibn ʿAbbas, who said:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever learns one branch of astrology has learned one branch of sorcery; and the more he increases in it, the greater he increases.”
