2273 – Ahmad ibn Mahmud ibn Idris related to us; Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub related to us; al-Rabi‘ ibn Sulayman related to us; Ibn Wahb related to us; he said: Sulayman ibn Bilal informed me, from Thawr ibn Zayd al-Dayli, from Abu al-Ghayth, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Keep away from the seven sins that destroy.”
They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what are they?” He replied:
“Associating partners with Allah; sorcery; killing a life that Allah has declared sacred except with due right; consuming usury; consuming an orphan’s property; turning one’s back on the battlefield; and accusing chaste, unsuspecting, believing women of fornication.”
Both al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded this hadith through the narration of Sulayman.
٢٢٧٣ - أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ، قَالَ: نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، قَالَ: نا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الدَّيْلِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «اجْتَنِبُوا السَّبْعَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ» ، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُنَّ؟ قَالَ: «الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ، وَالسِّحْرُ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ، وَأَكْلُ الرِّبَا، وَأَكْلُ مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ، وَالتَّوَلِّي يَوْمَ الزَّحْفِ، وَقَذْفُ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ» . أَخْرَجَاهُ جَمِيعًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ
