216—Ahmad informed us. Umar informed us. Nasr narrated to us. Ishaq narrated to us. Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us from Yahya ibn Sa'id, who said: Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz said, “Whoever makes his religion a target for disputation will greatly increase in doubt.” Or he said, “He will become greatly changeable.”
٢١٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ , أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرٌ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ , قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ: «مَنْ جَعَلَ دِينَهُ غَرَضًا لِلْخُصُومَاتِ أَكْثَرَ الشَّكَّ» . أَوْ قَالَ: «يُكْثِرُ التَّحَوُّلَ»
