2268 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mahdī al-Anbārī said: Aḥmad ibn ʿAmr narrated to us; he said: Yūnus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā narrated to us; he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us; he said: Yūnus—ḥ.
2269 – And I, Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisī, said: Aḥmad ibn Saʿīd al-Thaqafī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā al-Dhuhlī narrated to us; he said: Abū al-Yamān narrated to us; he said: Shuʿayb, from al-Zuhrī, informed me; he said: Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib informed me that Abū Hurayrah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “Allah divided mercy into one hundred portions. He kept ninety-nine with Himself and sent down one portion to the earth. By virtue of that single portion, all creatures show compassion to one another, so much so that a mare lifts its hoof away from its foal for fear of harming it.” Al-Bukhārī recorded it through Abū al-Yamān, and Muslim recorded it through Harmalah from Ibn Wahb.
