2252 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muslim ibn Yahya informed us; al-Husayn ibn Ismaʿil informed us; Abu al-Ashʿath narrated to us; Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Tufawi narrated to us; Ayyub transmitted from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Paradise and Hellfire disputed with one another. The Fire said, ‘The tyrants and the arrogant shall enter me.’ Paradise said, ‘Into me will come the weak among people and their lowly ones.’
Allah then said to the Fire, ‘You are My punishment; with you I afflict whom I will,’ and He said to Paradise, ‘You are My mercy; through you I show mercy to whom I will. Each of you shall be filled.’
When the Day of Resurrection arrives, Allah will not wrong any of His creatures in the least. He will cast people into the Fire, and it will say, ‘Is there any more?’—until Allah places His Foot upon it; at that point it will be filled, its parts will draw in upon one another, and it will say, ‘Enough, enough.’”
