2243 – Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisi narrated to us; he said: Bakr ibn Aḥmad al-Shaʿrāni narrated to us; he said: Yūnus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā narrated to us; he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us; he informed me that Mālik reported from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ:

“When one of you dies, his seat is displayed to him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then he is shown that he belongs to the people of Paradise; and if he is among the people of the Fire, then he is shown that he belongs to the people of the Fire. Then it is said, ‘This is your seat until Allah resurrects you on the Day of Resurrection.’” ⦗1260⦘ Recorded by al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
