212—Muhammad ibn Jafar al-Nahwi informed us. Ubayd Allah ibn Thabit al-Hariri informed us. Ahmad ibn Mansur narrated to us. Abd Allah ibn Salih narrated to us, from Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn Abbas, who said: “Allah commanded the believers to remain united and forbade them from اختلاف (ikhtilāf: disagreement) and division. He also informed them that those before them were destroyed through contentious disputation and quarrels.”
٢١٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ النَّحْوِيُّ , قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْحَرِيرِيُّ , قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , قَالَ: «أَمَرَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِالْجَمَاعَةِ وَنَهَاهُمْ عَنِ الِاخْتِلَافِ وَالْفُرْقَةِ , وَأَخْبَرَهُمْ بِمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَهُمْ بِالْمِرَاءِ وَالْخُصُومَاتِ»
