2215 – ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; he said: Yūsuf ibn ʿUmar narrated to us; he said: This was read to Yaḥyā ibn Ṣāʿid while I was present: “Yūsuf ibn Mūsā has related to you,” he said, “ʿAmr narrated to us, from Saʿīd, from Qatādah regarding the verse, ‘But his reckoning is only with his Lord’ (al-Muʾminūn 23:117).” Qatādah said, “The unbelievers’ accounting lies with Allah, Mighty and Majestic.” Then he recited, “Surely the unbelievers will never prosper” (al-Muʾminūn 23:117).
