He said: Dāwūd ibn al-Muḥabbar narrated to us; he said: Ṣāliḥ al-Murrī narrated to us, from Thābit, Jaʿfar ibn Zayd, and Manṣūr ibn Zādhān, from Anas, who attributed it to the Prophet:
“An angel has been appointed over the Balance. The son of Adam is brought and made to stand between the two pans of the Balance ⦗1244⦘. If his side outweighs the other, the angel announces in a voice audible to all creatures, ‘So-and-so has attained felicity—a happiness after which he will never be miserable.’ But if it comes up light, the angel announces, ‘So-and-so has incurred misery—a wretchedness after which he will never know happiness.’”
