2204 – Al-Qāsim ibn Jaʿfar reported to us; al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUthmān reported to us. He said: Yaʿqūb ibn Sufyān narrated to us; he said: Abū Ṣāliḥ and Ibn Bukayr both said: al-Layth narrated to us, from ʿĀmir ibn Yaḥyā, from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Hubulī, who said: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“A man from my community will be called out before all creatures on the Day of Resurrection. Allah will spread out for him ninety-nine scrolls, each scroll stretching as far as the eye can see. He will then be asked, ‘Do you deny any of this?’ He will answer, ‘No, my Lord.’ He will be asked, ‘Have you any excuse, or any good deed to your credit?’ Overcome with awe, the man will reply, ‘No, my Lord.’ Allah will say, ‘Indeed, you have good deeds with Us, and you shall not be wronged today.’ Then a card will be brought forth on which is written: Ashhadu an lā ilāha illā Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan ʿabduhu wa rasūluh (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger). The man will ask, ‘My Lord, what is this card compared with these scrolls?’ He will be told, ‘You will not be wronged.’ The scrolls will be placed on one pan of the Balance and the card on the other; the scrolls will become light, and the card will outweigh them.”
