2203 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Juʿfi related to us; Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar ibn Riyah related to us, saying: ʿAli ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us; Ibn Fudayl narrated to us; ʿUmara ibn al-Qaʿqaʿ narrated to us, from Abu Zurʿa, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet ﷺ said, “Two phrases are light on the tongue, yet heavy on the Balance, beloved ⦗1243⦘ to the Most Merciful: Subhana Allah wa bi-Hamdih (Glorified is Allah and praise belongs to Him); Subhana Allah al-ʿAzim wa bi-Hamdih (Glorified is Allah, the Tremendous, and praise belongs to Him).”

Both al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded it through the narration of Ibn Fudayl.
