2192 — ʿAlī ibn ʿUmar ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; he said: Mukram ibn Aḥmad narrated to us; he said: al-Qāsim ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Tustarī narrated to us; he said: Musaddad narrated to us; he said: Ḥammād ibn Zayd, from Ayyūb, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Mulaykah, who said: ʿĀʾishah reported:
The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “Whoever is called to account will be punished.” I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what about His words: ‘As for the one who is given his record in his right hand, he will soon receive an easy reckoning’ (Qur’an 84:8)?” He replied, “O ʿĀʾishah, that is only the presentation of deeds; but anyone whose reckoning is scrutinized will perish.”
