2185 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn al-ʿAbbas narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Aziz narrated to us; he said: Dawud ibn Rushayd narrated to us; he said: Marwan ibn Muʿawiyah narrated to us; he said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Asam narrated to us; he said: Yazid al-Asam reported that Ibn ʿAbbas said:

“Since the bearer of the Trumpet (ṣūr) was entrusted with it, he has not blinked. He stands ever-ready, his gaze fixed upon the Throne, fearing that he may be ordered (to blow) before his glance can return. His eyes are like two brilliant stars.”
