“A man saw his father in a dream. The father said, ‘My son, why is it that you no longer bring us your gift?’ The son replied, ‘My dear father, how can our gift reach you?’ The father answered, ‘Say:
“O Sovereign, O All-Powerful, O You who have no equal”—or, as he sometimes said, “no peer”—“I ask You to bless Muhammad and to forgive my parents; indeed, You have power over all things.”
He said: “The son recited these words, then saw his father once more, who told him, ‘My son, your gift has reached us.’”
