2170 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn al-ʿAbbas reported to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Aziz related to us; Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab narrated; ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn al-Ghasil transmitted it from Usayd ibn ʿAli, from his father ʿAli ibn ʿUbayd, from Abu Usayd—who had fought at Badr—who said:
I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a man from the Ansar came and asked, “Messenger of Allah, is there any act of filial devotion still owed to my parents after their death?” He replied, “Yes: praying for them, asking forgiveness for them, carrying out their bequests after them, honoring their friends, and maintaining the bonds of kinship that reach you only through them. These ⦗1226⦘ are the duties that still remain upon you.”
٢١٧٠ - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ، قَالَ: أنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ: نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ، عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ، وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَالِسًا، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ بَقِيَ مِنْ بِرِّ وَالِدَيَّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمَا شَيْءٌ أَبَرُّهُمَا بِهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِمَا، وَالِاسْتِغْفَارُ لَهُمَا وَإِنْفَاذُ عَهْدِهِمَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمَا، وَإِكْرَامُ صَدِيقِهِمَا وَصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ الَّتِي لَا رَحِمَ لَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ قِبَلِهِمَا، فَهَذَا ⦗١٢٢٦⦘ الَّذِي بَقِيَ عَلَيْكَ»
